There are physical benefits to yoga asana practice: strength, stamina, slim/athletic appearance etc. But these are side-effects to achieving inner peace..
Simon Barth has been teaching Yoga for more than fourteen years, 5 of those were in Goa, India, and over the past decade his classes have been held in Sheffield, where The Collins & Barth School of Yoga is based. He has also taught yoga in Malaysia and Malawi.
He trained in Classical Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa styles of Yoga in India.
He is regularly invited to teach on yoga retreats and exploratory yoga days and is extremely popular amongst his students who love him for his humour and light hearted attitude, although his passion for yoga runs very deep.
Simon’s background in Neuro Linguistic Programming, (NLP), psychology and counselling gives him a deeper understanding of the brain. His former career as a teacher and mentor in mainstream education gives Simon a special understanding of ways in which students learn, and potential barriers to their understanding. He is particularly sensitive to the individual needs of each learner.
Simon has an interest in Yoga and Sport and has worked with for a few years with Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and the Sheffield Eagles Rugby Club
